FOCUS (Facility Operator Certification for Utility Systems) training will show you how to improve building energy use, water efficiency, and indoor air quality and make your facility more environmentally friendly. Nevada FOCUS is a statewide training and certification program designed for building engineers, facility operators, their crews and other interested parties.
Learn the latest technology and methods to increase cash flow by reducing energy costs, and enhance employee productivity through work environment and comfort enhancements. Operators can gain essential skills to improve the health, wealth and environmental friendliness of building utility systems.
You will learn how to:
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement and savings.
- Measure energy performance, then analyze and interpret the data.
- Calculate ideal levels for services such as temperature, humidity, light and water purity.
- Compete for capital and calculate return on investment.
- Find information and expand your network.
2008 Program
This year, Nevada FOCUS consists of twelve workshops. Attend all twelve and be eligible for certification or attend only the sessions that interest you. Workshop seating is limited and preference will be given to those registering for the entire series. CEUs are available through Truckee Meadows Community College .
